The UP Statistical Society (UP StatSoc) had its Recruitment Week last November 18-21, 2008 with the theme: StatSoc Survivor.
The StatSocers together with other Stat Majors were now back to our cozy little home, the UP School of Statistics, making it more convenient to recruit applicants compared last semester.
With the help of Communications Committee’s creativity, they were able to put up a Survivor-inspired sign-up booth along Stat Walk bearing the words:

Outwit · Outplay · Outlast
As practiced, we also had dress codes for the week.
Tuesday – green shirt
Wednesday – stripes shirt
Thursday – black shirt
Friday – white shirt
The Recruitment Week resulted to a total of more than 60 sign-ups. Thanks to the hard work of the Personnel Committee and the support of StatSocers especially to the new members who crowded the booth shouting out “JOIN UP STATSOC!”
