Last July 16, 2008, UP Statistical Society held its Acquaintance Party and Buddy Bidding at Balay Kalinaw, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Members, alumni and applicants were present in the event. The Acquaintance party is for the members to get to know each other better. Of course, what makes StatSoc great is its bonded members working together!
The Masters of Ceremony were Julie Baluyot and Kristine Mateo. Hulkster Duenas led a very heartfelt prayer.
Welcome remarks and words of encouragement to the applicants were given by the President, Ernest Dominic Buhangin.
Since the party's program was composed of committee presentations, the Board of Directors then decided to be the first one to present. To inspire the members and the applicants, they sang "Seasons of Love".
After the BOD presentation, each of the committees then performed their presentations.
In the middle of the committee presentations, an interactive game prepared by the ExeBOD was conducted which aimed to acquaint more the members and the applicants. The participants were divided into groups by random selection of the game masters.
After the Acquaintance Party, it was now time for the Buddy Bidding. The bidding was programmed last for the applicants to know and to be acquainted first with the members. List of schedule of members were distributed to the applicants for them to choose their desired buddy.
Of course, the party wouldn't be complete without the very delicious treats prepared by the BOD. The food then was distributed while the applicants bid for their buddies.
Again, another successful event of StatSoc was accomplished. It was a job well done by the very cooperative members, alumni and the future members, the applicants.
